In early
February 2011, members of the Jax Woodworkers Club helped to load boxes
containing gift bags to be sent
to disabled veterans. Piccadilly Restaurant was gracious
enough
to
open their meeting room for the club so we could gather for
this service project. Each purple gift bag contains a
handmade
Tic-Tac-Toe game and a Magic Triangle game (with instructions on how to
solve the puzzle). There are other goodies in each bag:
candy, pencils, a tooth brush and other toys.
Over
430 purple bags will be donated to four agencies:
- Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
- St. Augustine Nursing Home for Disabled Vets (Florida)
- Lake City Nursing Home for Disabled Vets (Florida)
- Harbor Chase Vets Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida

Jax Woodworkers Club's main service project is making toys for needy
local children. We could not let Valentine's Day go by
without
also thinking about the service men and women who have sacrificed so
much for us.
This is just a little token of our appreciation. The club
members eagerly gave their time and talents to hopefully
bring some joy to a service person away from home on this
Valentine's Day.
